Plagiarism Check

Educatum: Jurnal Dunia Pendidikan is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are screened for plagiarism before entering the peer-review process using Turnitin similarity detection software.

The editorial team evaluates not only the overall similarity index but also the context and source of the similarities. Similarity resulting from properly cited quotations, references, common terminology, institutional affiliations, or standard methodological descriptions is assessed separately and is not automatically considered plagiarism.

As a general policy, the overall similarity index should not exceed 20%, excluding references, bibliography, and appropriately quoted text. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected at the discretion of the editors, depending on the nature and extent of the overlap.

The journal does not tolerate any form of publication malpractice, including plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, or inappropriate citation practices.

Levels of Plagiarism

Minor Plagiarism

Minor plagiarism involves limited textual overlap that does not affect the originality of the research findings, such as inadequate citation, insufficient paraphrasing, or isolated copied sentences.

Editorial Action:
The manuscript will be returned to the author for revision with a request to correct the cited text, improve paraphrasing, and provide appropriate references before further editorial consideration.

Moderate Plagiarism

Moderate plagiarism involves substantial unattributed textual overlap, inappropriate reuse of previously published material, or significant self-plagiarism that compromises the originality of the manuscript.

Editorial Action:
The manuscript will be rejected. Authors may submit a substantially revised manuscript only after addressing all ethical concerns and receiving approval from the editorial office.

Severe Plagiarism

Severe plagiarism includes extensive copying of another author's work, theft of ideas, figures, tables, data, or research findings, duplicate publication, fabricated or falsified data, or any other serious violation of publication ethics.

Editorial Action:
The manuscript will be rejected immediately. The editorial board may notify the authors' affiliated institution, funding agency, or other relevant parties where appropriate. Further editorial action will follow the COPE Core Practices and the journal's publication ethics policy.
