General Author Guidelines

Authors intending to submit manuscripts to Educatum: Journal of Education Studies must comply with the journal's submission policies, ethical requirements, and manuscript preparation guidelines.

Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian using clear, accurate, and academic language. Authors are encouraged to use English to increase international accessibility and visibility.
Submitted manuscripts must represent original scholarly work, have not been published previously, and must not be under consideration by another journal.
Educatum accepts original research articles, review articles, and conceptual papers that align with the journal's Aims and Scope.
All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal's Online Journal System (OJS). Authors must register and complete their author profile before submission.
Each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial assessment, similarity checking, and a double-blind peer-review process before a final editorial decision is made.
Manuscripts must be prepared using the official Educatum manuscript template available on the journal website.
Authors are encouraged to provide their ORCID iD to support accurate author identification and research visibility.
Authors must ensure that all listed authors have made significant intellectual contributions and approve the final version of the manuscript before submission.

Manuscript Preparation Guidelines

Title

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately represent the content of the manuscript. The title should preferably not exceed 20 words, avoid unnecessary abbreviations, and clearly indicate the main focus of the study.

Authors and Affiliations

Authors' names should be written without academic degrees or professional titles. Each author's institutional affiliation, complete address, email address, and ORCID iD (if available) should be provided. One corresponding author must be clearly identified to handle communication throughout the review and publication process.

Abstract

The abstract should consist of a single paragraph containing approximately 150–250 words and should provide a concise overview of:

background and research context;
research purpose or objectives;
methods or conceptual approach;
main findings or arguments; and
conclusions and implications.

The abstract should be written clearly without citations, tables, figures, or undefined abbreviations.

Keywords

Authors should provide 3–5 keywords representing the main concepts of the manuscript. Keywords should be separated by semicolons and should not merely duplicate the title.

Introduction

The introduction should establish the research background, identify relevant problems or gaps in existing literature, explain the novelty and significance of the study, present relevant theoretical foundations, and clearly state the research objectives or questions.

Methods

The methods section should provide sufficient detail regarding research design, participants or data sources, research setting, instruments, data collection procedures, analytical techniques, and ethical considerations where applicable.

The methodology should be described clearly enough to allow other researchers to understand, evaluate, and potentially replicate the study.

Results

The results section should present findings systematically and objectively. Tables, figures, or other visual representations may be used when appropriate to improve clarity.

Interpretation of findings should primarily be addressed in the Discussion section.

Discussion

The discussion should explain the meaning and significance of the findings in relation to previous research and relevant theories.

Authors should highlight the contribution, implications, limitations, and potential directions for future research.

Conclusion

The conclusion should directly address the research objectives, summarize the main contributions of the study, and provide relevant recommendations without repeating the Results and Discussion sections.

Acknowledgements

Authors may acknowledge individuals, institutions, technical assistance, or other contributions that do not meet the criteria for authorship.

Funding Statement

Authors must disclose all sources of financial support for the research and publication process.

If no external funding was received, authors should include the following statement:

This research received no external funding.

Conflict of Interest Statement

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, professional, or personal relationships that may influence the research process or interpretation of findings.

If no conflicts exist, authors should include the following statement:

The authors declare no conflict of interest.

Ethical Approval and Research Ethics

Research involving human participants, including students, teachers, educational institutions, or vulnerable groups, must comply with applicable ethical standards.

Where required, authors must provide information regarding ethical approval, informed consent, and participant protection measures.

Artificial Intelligence Disclosure

Authors may use artificial intelligence tools as supportive instruments during research and manuscript preparation. However, AI tools cannot replace authors' intellectual responsibility.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and ethical compliance of submitted manuscripts. Significant use of generative AI tools should be transparently disclosed according to the journal's AI Policy.

References

References should include only sources cited within the manuscript. Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero, or other compatible tools.

References should:

follow the APA 7th Edition citation style;
prioritize high-quality primary sources, particularly peer-reviewed journal articles;
include recent scholarly literature, preferably from the last five years when relevant;
include seminal or foundational references when necessary;
provide DOI information whenever available.
