Authorship and Contribution

Educatum: Jurnal Dunia Pendidikan recognizes that authorship represents both intellectual contribution and accountability for published scholarly work.

All individuals listed as authors must have made substantial contributions to the research process, manuscript preparation, and final publication. Authorship should not be based solely on position, institutional affiliation, supervision, funding acquisition, or administrative support.

Authorship Criteria

An author should meet all of the following criteria:

  • made substantial contributions to the conception, design, methodology, data collection, analysis, interpretation, or development of the research;

  • participated in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content;

  • approved the final version of the manuscript before submission and publication; and

  • accepted responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and ethical aspects of the published work.

Individuals who do not meet these criteria should not be listed as authors but may be acknowledged appropriately for their contributions.

Author Contributions

Authors are encouraged to clearly describe their individual contributions to the manuscript preparation and research process.

Contributions may include, but are not limited to:

  • conceptualization and development of research ideas;

  • design of methodology and research framework;

  • data collection, investigation, or experimental work;

  • data analysis and interpretation;

  • development of theoretical framework;

  • writing the original manuscript draft;

  • critical review and revision of the manuscript;

  • visualization, preparation of figures and tables;

  • project administration or research supervision; and

  • overall responsibility for the integrity of the published work.

Corresponding Author Responsibility

The corresponding author serves as the primary contact person between the authors and the Editorial Office of Educatum: Jurnal Dunia Pendidikan.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that:

  • all listed authors have approved the manuscript submission;

  • all authors have made appropriate contributions to the work;

  • author order and contribution statements have been agreed upon by all authors;

  • all required declarations, including conflict of interest and ethical statements, are properly completed; and

  • communication with editors throughout the review and publication process is properly managed.

Changes in Authorship

Any changes to authorship after manuscript submission, including adding, removing, or changing the order of authors, must be requested by the corresponding author with written agreement from all authors involved.

Such requests must include a clear explanation and will be reviewed by the Editorial Team before approval.

Changes in authorship after publication will only be considered in exceptional circumstances and may require appropriate documentation and editorial investigation.

Improper Authorship Practices

Educatum: Jurnal Dunia Pendidikan does not permit inappropriate authorship practices, including:

  • Guest authorship — listing individuals as authors who have not made meaningful contributions to the research or manuscript.

  • Gift or honorary authorship — granting authorship based solely on reputation, position, seniority, institutional authority, or personal relationships.

  • Ghost authorship — excluding individuals who have made substantial contributions from the author list.

Acknowledgment of Contributions

Individuals who contribute to the research or manuscript but do not meet authorship criteria may be recognized in the Acknowledgments section.

Examples of acknowledged contributions may include administrative assistance, technical support, language editing, data management, or other non-authorial support.

Author Accountability

All authors share responsibility for the integrity of the published work. Authors must ensure that the manuscript accurately represents the research process, findings, and conclusions.

By submitting a manuscript to Educatum: Jurnal Dunia Pendidikan, authors confirm that authorship has been appropriately assigned, all contributors have been properly recognized, and all listed authors accept responsibility for the published article.
