Research Misconduct Policy

Educatum: Jurnal Dunia Pendidikan is committed to maintaining research integrity, academic honesty, transparency, and responsible scholarly communication throughout the publication process.

The journal does not tolerate any form of research misconduct, publication misconduct, or unethical practices that may compromise the reliability, originality, and integrity of the scholarly record.

All allegations of research misconduct involving submitted or published manuscripts will be handled seriously, fairly, confidentially, and in accordance with internationally recognized principles of responsible research and publication ethics.

Definition of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct refers to intentional, negligent, or unethical actions that violate accepted standards of research integrity and scholarly publishing.

Research misconduct may occur during research design, data collection, analysis, reporting, manuscript preparation, peer review, or publication processes.

Forms of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct includes, but is not limited to:

• Fabrication — creating false data, observations, participants, results, or research records that do not actually exist.

• Falsification — manipulating, modifying, omitting, or misrepresenting research data, procedures, results, or interpretations.

• Plagiarism — using another person's words, ideas, data, methods, or intellectual contributions without appropriate acknowledgment.

• Duplicate or Redundant Publication — publishing substantially similar research findings in more than one publication without proper disclosure or justification.

• Improper Authorship — including individuals who do not meet authorship criteria or excluding individuals who have made significant scholarly contributions.

• Citation Manipulation — excessive, irrelevant, or inappropriate citation practices intended to influence citation metrics or misrepresent scholarly contribution.

• Peer Review Manipulation — interfering with or attempting to influence the peer-review process through dishonest practices.

• Misuse of Confidential Information — using unpublished manuscripts, reviewer comments, research data, or confidential information without authorization.

• Ethical Violations in Research Involving Humans — conducting research without appropriate ethical approval, informed consent, or protection of participant rights.

Reporting Suspected Misconduct

Authors, reviewers, editors, readers, and other stakeholders may report suspected research or publication misconduct to the Editorial Office of Educatum: Jurnal Dunia Pendidikan.

Reports should include sufficient information and supporting evidence to allow appropriate evaluation and investigation.

The identity of individuals reporting misconduct will be treated confidentially whenever possible.

Investigation Process

When an allegation of misconduct is received, the Editorial Team will conduct an initial assessment to determine whether further investigation is required.

If necessary, the journal may:

• request clarification or additional information from authors or relevant parties;

• review submitted materials, editorial records, peer-review reports, and supporting evidence;

• consult independent experts or members of the Editorial Board;

• contact relevant institutions, research organizations, or funding bodies when appropriate.

Investigations will be conducted objectively while respecting confidentiality, due process, and the rights of all parties involved.

Editorial Actions and Sanctions

Depending on the severity and circumstances of confirmed misconduct, Educatum: Jurnal Dunia Pendidikan may take appropriate actions, including:

• requesting correction or clarification from authors;

• rejecting manuscripts during the editorial process;

• issuing corrections or expressions of concern for published articles;

• retracting published articles when findings are unreliable or seriously compromised;

• restricting future submissions when necessary; and

• informing relevant institutions or authorities when serious misconduct is confirmed.

Post-Publication Concerns

If concerns regarding research integrity arise after publication, Educatum: Jurnal Dunia Pendidikan will evaluate the issue according to its Publication Ethics, Correction and Retraction Policy, and relevant ethical guidelines.

Any correction, expression of concern, or retraction will be documented transparently and linked to the original article to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
