Correction and Retraction Policy

Educatum: Jurnal Dunia Pendidikan is committed to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, transparency, and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal recognizes the importance of correcting published information when errors, inaccuracies, or ethical concerns are identified after publication.

Corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions are managed carefully to ensure transparency, preserve academic integrity, and maintain trust in the published literature.

Post-Publication Concerns

Concerns regarding published articles may be reported by authors, readers, reviewers, editors, institutions, or other stakeholders to the Editorial Office of Educatum: Jurnal Dunia Pendidikan.

All reported concerns will be evaluated by the Editorial Team based on available evidence, relevant publication records, ethical considerations, and the potential impact on the reliability of the published work.

Corrections

A correction may be issued when errors or inaccuracies are identified in a published article but do not invalidate the overall findings, interpretation, or conclusions of the research.

Corrections may address issues such as:

  • minor errors in text, tables, figures, or metadata;

  • incorrect author information or institutional affiliation;

  • errors in formatting or presentation that do not affect the scientific validity of the article; or

  • other inaccuracies that require clarification while maintaining the validity of the published work.

Corrections will be published as a separate notice linked to the original article. The original article will remain available, with appropriate documentation of the correction to maintain transparency.

Expressions of Concern

An Expression of Concern may be issued when serious questions arise regarding the integrity, reliability, or ethical compliance of a published article, but the available information is insufficient to make a final decision.

Expressions of Concern may be considered when:

  • an investigation into possible research misconduct is ongoing;

  • there are unresolved concerns regarding research data, methods, or findings;

  • ethical approval, authorship, or publication integrity issues require further investigation.

An Expression of Concern will remain associated with the original article until the matter is resolved through an appropriate editorial process.

Retraction

A published article may be retracted when the integrity or reliability of the research findings is seriously compromised.

Reasons for retraction may include, but are not limited to:

  • fabrication or falsification of research data;

  • major methodological errors that invalidate the findings;

  • plagiarism or serious copyright violations;

  • duplicate or redundant publication;

  • serious authorship misconduct;

  • undisclosed conflicts of interest that significantly affect the interpretation of findings;

  • unethical research involving human participants or other serious ethical violations.

Retraction does not necessarily imply misconduct by authors. Articles may also be retracted when honest errors are identified that significantly affect the validity or reliability of the published findings.

Retraction Process

Before issuing a retraction, Educatum: Jurnal Dunia Pendidikan will conduct an appropriate assessment and provide relevant authors with an opportunity to respond to the concerns raised.

The final decision regarding correction, expression of concern, or retraction is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on evidence, editorial assessment, and applicable publication ethics principles.

Publication of Retraction Notices

When an article is retracted, the journal will publish a separate retraction notice that clearly identifies:

  • the title and authors of the affected article;

  • the reason for retraction;

  • the date of retraction; and

  • the relationship between the retraction notice and the original article.

The original article will remain accessible for transparency and scholarly record purposes but will be clearly marked as retracted.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are expected to promptly notify Educatum: Jurnal Dunia Pendidikan if they discover significant errors or ethical concerns in their published work.

Authors must cooperate with editorial investigations and provide necessary explanations, supporting information, or corrections when required.
