Online Submissions

Authors must register for an account before submitting a manuscript to PIETAS: Jurnal Studi Agama dan Lintas Budaya (Journal of Religious and Cross-Cultural Studies). Authors who already have an account may log in using their registered username and password to access the online submission system.

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. PIETAS does not accept manuscript submissions through email or other communication channels unless specifically requested by the Editorial Office.

During the submission process, authors are required to complete all submission steps, including providing accurate manuscript metadata and uploading all required files according to the journal's submission requirements.

Submission Requirements

Before submitting a manuscript, authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original and has not been previously published or submitted to another journal;
  • The manuscript follows PIETAS author guidelines and official manuscript template;
  • All authors have approved the submitted version of the manuscript;
  • Author information, institutional affiliations, ORCID iDs (if available), and correspondence details are accurately provided;
  • Funding information and conflict of interest disclosures are included where applicable;
  • The manuscript complies with PIETAS publication ethics and research integrity standards.

Online Submission Process

The online submission system enables authors to:

  • Submit new manuscripts electronically;
  • Upload revised manuscripts and additional supporting documents during the review process;
  • Complete and update manuscript metadata, including title, abstract, keywords, author information, and references;
  • Monitor the progress and editorial status of submitted manuscripts;
  • Receive editorial decisions, revision requests, and reviewer comments;
  • Communicate with the editorial office throughout the review and publication process.

Editorial Screening Before Peer Review

After submission, manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess compliance with the journal's aims and scope, submission requirements, academic quality, originality, and publication ethics standards.

Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's requirements may be returned to authors for correction or may be rejected before entering the peer-review process.

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all submitted information and uploaded files are complete, accurate, and compliant with PIETAS policies. Submission of a manuscript indicates that authors agree to follow the journal's editorial procedures, peer-review process, publication ethics, and copyright and licensing policies.
