DEVOTION: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat supports transparency, reproducibility, and responsible data sharing in scholarly communication. The journal encourages authors to make relevant data, materials, and supporting information available to readers whenever ethically, legally, and practically possible.

Because DEVOTION publishes research and community engagement studies involving individuals, communities, and organizations, data availability must consider privacy protection, confidentiality, informed consent, intellectual property rights, and ethical requirements.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for providing accurate information regarding the availability of data, materials, and supporting resources related to their manuscript.

Where applicable, authors should:

  • Deposit research data, instruments, protocols, or supporting materials in an appropriate trusted repository.
  • Provide information on how readers can access the available data.
  • Include a data availability statement in the manuscript.
  • Ensure that shared data comply with ethical approval, participant consent, privacy, and applicable regulations.

Data Availability Statement

Authors are encouraged to include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript. The statement should explain whether the data supporting the findings are available and how they can be accessed.

Examples:

Data available:
The data supporting the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request.

Data available in a repository:
The data supporting this study are available through [repository name] at [link or DOI].

Data not publicly available:
The data cannot be publicly shared due to privacy, ethical, or confidentiality restrictions related to community participants and sensitive information.

Protection of Community and Participant Data

Authors must ensure that personal, confidential, or sensitive information related to community participants, beneficiaries, institutions, or partner organizations is properly protected.

Data containing identifiable information, including names, contact information, medical information, interview transcripts, photographs, videos, or confidential documents, must not be publicly shared unless appropriate consent and ethical safeguards are in place.

Restricted or Confidential Data

When data cannot be openly shared due to ethical, legal, privacy, intellectual property, or institutional restrictions, authors should clearly explain the limitations in the Data Availability Statement.

In such cases, authors may provide controlled access procedures or describe how qualified researchers may request access where appropriate.

Editorial Consideration

The Editorial Team may request clarification regarding data availability when necessary to evaluate the reliability, transparency, and integrity of submitted manuscripts.

Failure to provide accurate information about data sources, availability, or limitations may be considered a violation of the journal's Publication Ethics and Research Misconduct Policy.
