Plagiarism Policy

DEVOTION: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing all forms of plagiarism and unethical publication practices. The journal follows internationally recognized principles of responsible scholarly publishing and applies appropriate measures to ensure the originality and integrity of all published articles.

Plagiarism is defined as the unauthorized use or presentation of another person's ideas, words, data, images, methods, or other intellectual contributions as one's own without proper acknowledgment. Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, direct copying, improper paraphrasing, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and the misuse of previously published materials.

Similarity Screening

All manuscripts submitted to DEVOTION are subject to similarity screening using an appropriate plagiarism detection system before entering the peer-review process or during the editorial evaluation stage. Similarity checking is conducted to identify potential overlap with previously published works and to support the assessment of manuscript originality.

A similarity score does not automatically indicate plagiarism. The Editorial Team will evaluate similarity reports by considering the context, type of matched content, proper citation practices, and the overall originality of the manuscript.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts represent original work and properly acknowledge all sources, including published literature, data, images, tables, figures, and other materials obtained from previous works.

Authors must avoid plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate submission, redundant publication, and inappropriate reuse of previously published content. Any use of previously published material must include appropriate citation and, when required, permission from the copyright holder.

Editorial Actions Regarding Plagiarism

If plagiarism or significant inappropriate overlap is identified during the submission, review, or publication process, DEVOTION may take appropriate editorial actions based on the severity of the violation.

• Manuscripts with minor issues related to citation or attribution may be returned to authors for correction.
• Manuscripts containing substantial plagiarism, duplicate publication, or serious ethical violations may be rejected without further review.
• Published articles found to contain serious plagiarism or research misconduct may be subject to correction, expression of concern, or retraction in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policy.

DEVOTION encourages authors, reviewers, and editors to uphold academic honesty, transparency, and responsible scholarly communication. Preventing plagiarism is a shared responsibility among all parties involved in the publication process to maintain the quality and reliability of the scholarly record.
