Publication Ethics

DEVOTION: Jurnal Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and research integrity. The journal follows ethical principles and best practices based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure responsible conduct in all stages of the publication process.

All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, are expected to uphold academic integrity, transparency, fairness, and accountability.

1. Responsibilities of Authors

  • Authors must submit original and previously unpublished manuscripts that accurately represent their research, community engagement activities, and findings.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work does not contain plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation of data.
  • Authors must properly acknowledge the contributions of others and provide appropriate citations for all sources of information used.
  • All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research or community engagement activity should be appropriately recognized as authors or contributors.
  • Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest and provide relevant funding or institutional support information.

2. Responsibilities of Editors

  • Editors are responsible for making fair and objective decisions regarding manuscript acceptance based on academic quality, relevance, originality, and contribution.
  • Editors must ensure that manuscripts are evaluated without discrimination based on authors' nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, religion, or other personal characteristics.
  • Editors must maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and protect unpublished information from unauthorized use.
  • Editors are responsible for managing the peer-review process and addressing ethical issues, complaints, corrections, or retractions when necessary.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Reviewers must conduct reviews objectively, critically, and constructively to assist editors and authors in improving manuscript quality.
  • Reviewers must maintain confidentiality regarding manuscript content and must not use unpublished information for personal advantage.
  • Reviewers should disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline review assignments when impartial evaluation cannot be maintained.
  • Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited and report any ethical concerns related to the manuscript.

4. Plagiarism and Research Misconduct

DEVOTION applies similarity screening to all submitted manuscripts to prevent plagiarism and unethical publication practices. Manuscripts containing plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, or other forms of research misconduct will be rejected or subject to appropriate corrective actions.

5. Conflict of Interest

Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, or professional relationships that may influence the objectivity of the publication process. The journal will take appropriate measures to manage disclosed conflicts of interest.

6. Corrections and Retractions

DEVOTION is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record. Corrections, expressions of concern, or article retractions will be issued when significant errors, ethical violations, or research misconduct are identified after publication. Such actions will follow transparent procedures to protect the reliability of published knowledge.

7. Publisher Responsibilities

The publisher, Yayasan Yuta Pendidikan Cerdas, Indonesia, supports the editorial independence of DEVOTION and ensures that appropriate resources, policies, and procedures are available to maintain ethical publishing practices and long-term access to published scholarly content.
