AI Policy

Jurnal Ilmiah Multidisiplin (JUILMU) recognizes the increasing use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative AI tools in academic research and scholarly publishing. The journal supports the responsible and ethical use of AI technologies while maintaining the principles of research integrity, transparency, and human accountability.

Permitted Use of AI Tools

Authors may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to support activities such as:

  • Language improvement, grammar checking, and academic writing assistance.
  • Translation assistance.
  • Improving clarity, structure, or readability of manuscript content.
  • Supporting non-substantive technical tasks during manuscript preparation.

Authors remain fully responsible for reviewing, verifying, and ensuring the accuracy of all content generated or assisted by AI tools.

Disclosure of AI Use

Authors must transparently disclose the use of AI tools when such use has substantially contributed to manuscript preparation.

The disclosure should include:

  • The name of the AI tool used.
  • The purpose and extent of AI assistance.
  • The sections or aspects of the manuscript affected by AI assistance, when applicable.

AI as an Author

AI tools, including generative AI systems, cannot be listed as authors or co-authors of manuscripts submitted to JUILMU.

Authorship requires human accountability, intellectual contribution, responsibility for research integrity, and the ability to approve and take responsibility for the final published work.

Prohibited Use of AI

The use of AI tools is not permitted for activities that compromise research integrity, including:

  • Generating or fabricating research data, results, or references.
  • Creating false citations or misleading scientific information.
  • Manipulating research findings, images, figures, or analytical results.
  • Replacing authors' intellectual contributions and critical analysis.
  • Submitting AI-generated content without appropriate review, verification, and disclosure.

Authors' Responsibility

Authors are fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, validity, ethical compliance, and integrity of submitted manuscripts, regardless of whether AI tools were used during manuscript preparation.

AI Use During Peer Review

Reviewers and editors must maintain confidentiality during the peer-review process. They should not upload unpublished manuscripts or confidential manuscript information into external AI tools without appropriate authorization and safeguards.

Editorial Decision

JUILMU reserves the right to request clarification regarding AI usage when necessary to ensure transparency, originality, and compliance with publication ethics.

The journal follows internationally recognized principles of responsible AI use in scholarly publishing, including recommendations from relevant publication ethics organizations.
