Peer Review Process

Jurnal Ilmiah Multidisiplin (JUILMU) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing plagiarism and other forms of unethical publication practices. All submitted manuscripts undergo similarity checking as part of the journal's editorial quality control process.

Similarity Screening Process

Similarity checking is conducted using plagiarism detection software to identify potential overlap between submitted manuscripts and existing published materials, including journal articles, books, conference proceedings, online sources, and other academic documents.

Similarity screening may be conducted at the following stages:

  • Initial Editorial Screening: to identify potential plagiarism or significant similarity before the manuscript enters the peer-review process.
  • Pre-Publication Screening: to ensure that accepted manuscripts maintain academic integrity before final publication.

Evaluation of Similarity Reports

Similarity reports are reviewed carefully by the editorial team. The similarity percentage alone does not determine manuscript acceptance or rejection. Editors consider the context, source of similarity, proper citation, and the nature of the detected overlap.

Legitimate similarities, such as commonly used terminology, methodological descriptions, and properly cited references, may be considered acceptable.

Actions Regarding Excessive Similarity

If significant inappropriate similarity is identified, the editorial team may take appropriate actions, including:

  • Requesting clarification or revision from authors.
  • Returning the manuscript for correction before further evaluation.
  • Rejecting manuscripts with unacceptable levels of plagiarism or unethical content reuse.
  • Retracting published articles when serious misconduct is discovered after publication.

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that submitted manuscripts are original and that all sources, ideas, data, figures, and materials from other works are properly cited and acknowledged.

Submission of a manuscript to JUILMU indicates that authors agree to comply with the journal's publication ethics policies and similarity screening procedures.

Research Integrity Commitment

JUILMU follows internationally recognized publication ethics principles, including recommendations from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), to maintain transparency, originality, and integrity in scholarly publishing.
