Author Guidelines
General Requirements
JUILMU: Jurnal Ilmiah Multidisiplin publishes high-quality original research articles that have not been previously published, are not under consideration for publication elsewhere, and are free from plagiarism. Manuscripts may be written in either English or Indonesian. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts in English to enhance international readership and visibility.
All submitted manuscripts must comply with the journal's Focus and Scope and follow the manuscript template provided by the journal.
Manuscript Types
JUILMU accepts the following types of manuscripts:
- Original Research Articles
- Review Articles (by editorial invitation or prior approval)
Manuscript Preparation
Manuscripts should be prepared using the official JUILMU manuscript template and organized according to the following structure.
1. Title
The title should be concise, informative, and accurately reflect the content of the manuscript. It should not exceed 20 words and should avoid uncommon abbreviations whenever possible.
2. Author Information
Provide the full names of all authors without academic titles, followed by their institutional affiliations, complete institutional addresses, ORCID iD (if available), and email addresses. One corresponding author should be clearly identified.
3. Abstract
The abstract should be written in a single paragraph and should not exceed 250 words.
The abstract should briefly describe:
- Background
- Purpose of the study
- Methods
- Results
- Conclusion
No citations, tables, figures, or unexplained abbreviations should appear in the abstract.
4. Keywords
Provide three to five keywords that accurately represent the main topics of the manuscript. Keywords should be arranged alphabetically and should not duplicate words already appearing in the title.
5. Introduction
The Introduction should provide sufficient background, explain the significance of the study, review relevant literature, identify research gaps, and clearly state the objectives or research questions. Authors are expected to demonstrate the novelty and contribution of the study.
6. Materials and Methods
This section should clearly describe the research design, research setting, participants or data sources, instruments, procedures, data collection methods, and data analysis techniques in sufficient detail to enable replication. Ethical approval should be stated where applicable.
7. Results
The Results section should present the research findings clearly and objectively using tables or figures where appropriate. Results should be supported by adequate data without interpretation.
8. Discussion
The Discussion should interpret the findings, compare them with previous studies, explain their theoretical and practical implications, discuss possible limitations, and suggest directions for future research.
9. Conclusion
The Conclusion should directly address the research objectives, summarize the main findings without repeating the discussion, and highlight the scientific contribution of the study. Recommendations for future research may also be included.
10. Funding
Authors should clearly state all sources of research funding. If the research received no specific funding, please state:
"This research received no external funding."
11. Acknowledgments
Authors may acknowledge individuals, institutions, or organizations that contributed to the research but do not meet the criteria for authorship.
12. Author Contributions
Authors are encouraged to specify the contribution of each author to the manuscript (e.g., conceptualization, methodology, investigation, writing, supervision, funding acquisition).
13. Conflict of Interest
All authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest related to the submitted work. If there are no conflicts of interest, please state:
"The authors declare no conflict of interest."
14. References
References should include only works cited in the manuscript and should primarily consist of recent scholarly publications.
Authors are strongly encouraged to ensure that:
- At least 80% of references are journal articles published within the last five years.
- References are managed using reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or Reference Manager.
- References follow the APA (American Psychological Association) 7th Edition citation style.
- DOI information should be included whenever available.
Submission Process
Authors must register through the JUILMU Online Journal System (OJS) before submitting a manuscript. All submissions are made electronically through the journal website.
Each manuscript undergoes the following editorial process:
- Initial editorial screening.
- Scope and format evaluation.
- Similarity checking using plagiarism detection software.
- Double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
- Editorial decision (accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject).
- Copyediting and proofreading.
- Final publication.
Publication Ethics
JUILMU is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and follows internationally accepted principles of integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing.
Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original, accurately report research findings, appropriately acknowledge sources, and avoid plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, and unethical research practices.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools, including generative AI, is permitted only to assist language editing, grammar improvement, or manuscript preparation. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, interpretation, and integrity of all submitted content.
AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Any significant use of AI in manuscript preparation should be transparently disclosed within the manuscript.
Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain the copyright of their published work. Upon acceptance, articles are published under the journal's applicable open-access license and may be freely accessed, shared, and cited in accordance with the licensing terms.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
Information regarding submission fees and article processing charges is available on the journal website. Any applicable fees will be transparently communicated to authors prior to publication.
