Author Guidelines

Jurnal Ilmiah Multidisiplin (JUILMU) publishes high-quality scholarly articles that contribute to the advancement of knowledge across multidisciplinary fields. Authors are required to follow these guidelines to ensure that submitted manuscripts meet academic, ethical, and publication standards.

1. General Requirements

JUILMU accepts original manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts must be free from plagiarism and comply with the journal's Aims and Scope.

Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian. Authors are encouraged to submit manuscripts in English to increase international accessibility and readership.

All manuscripts must follow the official JUILMU manuscript template and comply with the journal's publication ethics policies.

2. Manuscript Types

JUILMU accepts the following manuscript types:

  • Original Research Article – Reports original findings based on systematic and scientifically valid research methods.
  • Review Article – Provides critical analysis, synthesis, and discussion of existing research developments.
  • Short Communication – Presents concise reports of significant findings or emerging research contributions.
  • Case Study – Provides an in-depth analysis of specific cases, phenomena, or practices using appropriate scientific approaches.

3. Manuscript Preparation

Manuscripts should be prepared using the official JUILMU manuscript template and generally follow the structure below.

1. Title

The title should be concise, informative, and accurately represent the content of the manuscript. The title should not exceed 20 words and should avoid unnecessary abbreviations.

2. Author Information

Authors should provide full names without academic titles, institutional affiliations, complete institutional addresses, ORCID iDs (if available), and email addresses. One author must be designated as the corresponding author.

3. Abstract

The abstract should be written in a single paragraph and should not exceed 250 words.

The abstract should include:

  • Background
  • Research objectives
  • Methods
  • Main results
  • Conclusion

The abstract should not contain citations, tables, figures, or unexplained abbreviations.

4. Keywords

Authors should provide three to five keywords that represent the main concepts of the manuscript. Keywords should be relevant to the research topic and arranged alphabetically.

5. Introduction

The Introduction should provide research background, relevant literature, research gaps, objectives, and the significance or contribution of the study.

6. Materials and Methods

This section should describe the research design, participants or data sources, instruments, procedures, data collection methods, and analysis techniques in sufficient detail to allow understanding and potential replication of the study.

Ethical approval or relevant ethical considerations should be stated when applicable.

7. Results

The Results section should present research findings clearly and objectively. Tables and figures may be used where appropriate to support the presentation of findings.

8. Discussion

The Discussion should interpret the findings, relate them to previous studies, explain theoretical and practical implications, identify limitations, and suggest future research directions.

9. Conclusion

The Conclusion should summarize the main findings and highlight the contribution of the research. Recommendations may be included when relevant.

10. Funding Statement

Authors must disclose all sources of research funding. If no external funding was received, authors should state:

"This research received no external funding."

11. Acknowledgments

Authors may acknowledge individuals, institutions, or organizations that contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria.

12. Author Contributions

Authors are encouraged to describe individual contributions using recognized contribution categories such as conceptualization, methodology, investigation, data analysis, writing, review and editing, supervision, and project administration.

13. Conflict of Interest

All authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest related to the research and publication process.

If no conflicts exist, authors should state:

"The authors declare no conflict of interest."

14. Data Availability Statement

Authors are encouraged to provide information regarding the availability of research data. The Data Availability Statement should explain whether data supporting the findings are publicly available, available upon reasonable request, or restricted due to ethical or legal considerations.

15. References

References should include only sources cited in the manuscript and should consist primarily of relevant and high-quality scholarly publications.

  • References should follow the APA 7th Edition citation style.
  • Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
  • DOI information should be included whenever available.
  • Authors should prioritize recent and relevant scholarly sources while considering disciplinary characteristics.

4. Submission Process

Authors must register and submit manuscripts through the JUILMU Online Journal System (OJS).

Each submitted manuscript undergoes the following process:

  1. Initial editorial screening.
  2. Evaluation of relevance, originality, and formatting compliance.
  3. Similarity checking using plagiarism detection software.
  4. Double-blind peer review by independent reviewers.
  5. Editorial decision (accept, minor revision, major revision, or reject).
  6. Copyediting and proofreading.
  7. Final publication.

5. Publication Ethics

JUILMU follows internationally recognized principles of publication ethics and research integrity.

Authors must ensure originality, accurate reporting of research findings, proper citation practices, ethical research conduct, and compliance with policies regarding plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and other forms of misconduct.

6. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools is permitted only to support activities such as language improvement, grammar checking, and manuscript preparation assistance.

Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, interpretation, and integrity of the submitted manuscript. AI tools cannot be listed as authors.

Any substantial use of AI tools that affects manuscript preparation should be transparently disclosed.

7. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their published work. Published articles are distributed under the journal's applicable open-access license and may be accessed, shared, and cited according to the license terms.

8. Article Processing Charges (APC)

Information regarding submission fees and article processing charges is provided on the official JUILMU website. Any applicable charges will be communicated transparently to authors before publication.
