Publication Ethics

Jurnal Ilmiah Multidisiplin (JUILMU) (e-ISSN: 3031-769X) is an open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal published by Yayasan Yuta Pendidikan Cerdas, Indonesia.

This Publication Ethics Statement describes the ethical principles and responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, editorial board members, and the publisher.

JUILMU is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and responsible scholarly publishing. The journal follows internationally recognized publication ethics principles, including the Core Practices and Principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Ethical Principles in Journal Publication

The publication of peer-reviewed research is an essential contribution to the development of scientific knowledge. Every article published in JUILMU represents the quality, credibility, and integrity of both the research conducted by authors and the editorial process managed by the journal.

The publisher, Yayasan Yuta Pendidikan Cerdas, supports editorial independence and ensures that publication decisions are made based on academic quality, research integrity, and ethical considerations without interference from commercial interests, sponsorship, or external pressure.

Duties of Editors

Publication Decisions

The Editor-in-Chief has final responsibility for publication decisions. Manuscripts are evaluated based on originality, scientific quality, methodological rigor, relevance to the journal's aims and scope, ethical compliance, and contribution to knowledge.

Fairness and Impartiality

Editors evaluate manuscripts objectively and fairly without discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, religion, political views, institutional affiliation, or other personal characteristics of authors.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts. Information about manuscripts may only be disclosed to authors, reviewers, editorial advisers, and relevant parties involved in the publication process.

Conflicts of Interest

Editors must not use unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for personal advantage. Editors must withdraw from handling manuscripts when personal, academic, financial, or institutional relationships may influence editorial decisions.

Duties of Peer Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer reviewers assist editors in making publication decisions by providing objective, constructive, and academically relevant evaluations. Reviewer comments should help improve manuscript quality.

Confidentiality

Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents. They must not disclose, copy, use, or distribute manuscript content without permission from the editor.

Objectivity and Professional Conduct

Reviews must be conducted objectively, respectfully, and based on academic arguments. Personal criticism of authors is inappropriate.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited and notify editors of possible plagiarism, duplication, or substantial similarity with other works.

Conflicts of Interest

Reviewers must decline review assignments when conflicts of interest exist due to personal, professional, financial, institutional, or collaborative relationships with authors.

Duties of Authors

Research Reporting Standards

Authors must present research findings accurately, honestly, and objectively. Manuscripts should provide sufficient methodological information and appropriate references to support evaluation and potential replication of the research.

Fabrication, falsification, selective reporting, or intentional misrepresentation of research results constitutes unethical publishing behavior.

Originality and Plagiarism

Authors must ensure that submitted manuscripts are original works. All ideas, data, figures, tables, and statements derived from other sources must be properly cited and acknowledged.

JUILMU applies similarity screening to submitted manuscripts. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, data plagiarism, and image manipulation, may result in rejection or post-publication action.

Duplicate and Redundant Publication

Authors must not submit manuscripts describing the same research to multiple journals simultaneously. Duplicate, redundant, or concurrent publication is considered unethical.

Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant intellectual contributions to the research design, methodology, data collection, analysis, interpretation, or manuscript preparation.

The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all authors have approved the final manuscript and agreed to its submission.

Data Availability and Research Transparency

Authors should retain supporting research data and provide access when reasonably requested by editors, reviewers, or appropriate parties, subject to ethical, legal, and institutional requirements.

Authors are encouraged to make research data available whenever possible to support transparency and reproducibility.

Research Involving Human Participants or Animals

Research involving humans or animals must comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional regulations.

Authors must obtain ethical approval where required and protect participant privacy, confidentiality, and informed consent requirements.

Funding and Conflict of Interest Disclosure

Authors must disclose all financial support, sponsorship, and potential conflicts of interest that may influence the research or publication process.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Disclosure

AI tools may be used only for supporting activities such as language improvement, translation, or manuscript preparation assistance.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, interpretation, and integrity of all submitted content.

Errors in Published Articles

Authors who identify significant errors in their published articles must immediately inform the Editor-in-Chief and cooperate in correcting, updating, or retracting the article when necessary.

Publisher Responsibilities

The publisher supports the editorial team in maintaining ethical publishing practices and ensures that editorial decisions remain independent from commercial, political, or external influence.

The publisher cooperates with authors, editors, reviewers, institutions, and other journals to resolve ethical concerns and maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.
