Abstract

Bullying is a problem that can undermine students' comfort, safety, and social relationships at school. At the elementary level, some students still find it difficult to distinguish between joking and behavior that hurts their peers. Preliminary observations at SDN Sri Asih, Cidahu Village, revealed teasing, calling classmates by their parents' names, and disturbing peers, behaviors that may cause discomfort. This community service program aimed to provide bullying prevention education so that students would understand the definition, forms, and impacts of bullying, as well as the actions they can take when experiencing or witnessing it. The activity was conducted on 11 August 2026 for 90 minutes using an educational-participatory approach that combined an awareness session, discussion, question and answer, PowerPoint presentation, and educational videos. The participants were 52 fifth and sixth grade students. Evaluation was conducted qualitatively through observation and oral questions to capture students' engagement and understanding. The results showed that students participated in the discussion, were able to explain the definition of bullying, mentioned several of its forms and impacts, and knew that bullying incidents can be reported to teachers, school staff, parents, or trusted adults. Students also began to recognize that jokes that make peers feel hurt, embarrassed, afraid, or uncomfortable cannot always be regarded as ordinary jokes. This program demonstrates that interactive awareness sessions can serve as a preventive effort to build students' awareness of mutual respect and to create a safe and comfortable school environment.
